Community Connector with SSCVA

Would you like to become a volunteer Community Connector as part of our new pilot project?

The purpose of the role is to support SSCVA in its key role of providing development support and advice to local voluntary and community groups across South Staffordshire.

Duties will include: 

Providing funding advice:

  • Promoting funding streams including the Goodlife Community Budget Grants
  • Providing tailored searches for groups
  • Providing application form support
  • Reviewing completed applications – before submission

Helping with governance and best practice:

  • Supporting new committees to become established
  • Providing guidance on committee roles and trustee responsibilities
  • Providing information on suitable constitutions and policies
  • Providing information on legal issues in connection with charities
  • Providing information on relevant Quality Standards

Volunteering:

  • Promoting the work of our volunteer centre
  • Registering people interested in volunteering
  • Registering organisations interested in promoting their volunteer opportunities

Training:

  • Identifying training needs of people and/or committees

Other support:

  • Promotion & marketing
  • Developing projects
  • Developing consultations
  • Signposting
  • Linking groups with like-minded projects to explore collaborative working
  • Supporting networking events such as the Community Voice Forums
  • Completion and submission of the Activity Log on a regular basis and reporting back to the SSCVA Development Officer on progress, issues of concern etc
  • Attending training and team meeting sessions as arranged.
