The Building Better Opportunities programme, which is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and European Social Fund, has awarded £2.3m to Business Enterprise Support, who will work with 17 partners across the south of the County. The project, which began in January 2017, aims to help those who experience multiple barriers to work in finding a job or in being better placed to look for work.
The three year project will focus on key groups who typically find they have multiple problems to overcome in finding suitable employment. It will tackle the barriers that prevent these groups of people from accessing support with more opportunities for education and training, improved health and wellbeing services, better financial help and new programmes to build people’s confidence. Support will be provided to help people build self-confidence and develop or acquire new skills in key areas where they might be experiencing difficulties.
Your role will be to provide support to participants who want to volunteer as a means of enhancing their skills, employability and overall health and wellbeing. Participants on volunteer placements will receive ongoing support to ensure that they are making progress towards the achievement of their employment and other goals.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must be able to work on their own initiative to tight deadlines, with the ability to work as an effective member of a wider project team. You will need good keyboard skills and experience of using Microsoft Office products and the ability to produce accurate and up-to-date records on a project management system, for which training will be provided.
Job-share applications will be considered.
Please return your completed Application Form and Equality & Diversity Form to David Leese at SSCVA (firstname.lastname@example.org) by 5pm on Friday 17th March 2017.
