Bayleaf

Bay Leaf is an organic vegetable gardening and healthy eating project for children.

Thousands of local children have benefitted from taking part in the SSCVA Bay Leaf Project.

Bay Leaf aims to give children opportunities to:

  • Develop new skills and interests
  • Learn about the environment & healthy eating
  • Learn National Curriculum subjects outside the classroom
  • Improve their health, wellbeing and behaviour
  • Gain experiences which otherwise may be denies to disadvantaged children

The benefits for schools with their own Bay Leaf projects include:

  • National Curriculum links in subjects such as Science, Maths, ICT, Design & Technology, English, History and Geography
  • Children learning how to co-operate and work as a team
  • Children having a healthier diet which potentially leads to improved behaviour in school
  • The support of South Staffordshire CVA throughout the project (including initial planning, advising on sources of child-sized tools, obtaining funding etc...)
