This year’s Spirit of Achievement Challenge Fund is all about inspiring people through music and dance.
Spirit of 2012 would like to hear from organisations with projects that give people of all abilities the chance to develop skills, confidence and expressive abilities through anything that involves music and / or dance.
They are currently seeking submissions for funding and plan to award grants of £100,000 – £250,000 to three separate projects that meet the following criteria:
- Located in England or Wales
- Allows disabled and non-disabled people to participate on equal terms
- Is centred around music and / or dance
Spirit of 2012 is an independent trust, established with a £47m endowment from the Big Lottery Fund. They fund projects that empower people to get out, be involved and feel better.
They are working to recreate the spirit that radiated from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games by investing in events as catalysts for change for people and communities across the UK. They promote wellbeing and social cohesion and challenge limiting perceptions of disability by funding partners that provide opportunities in sports, physical activity, arts and culture, volunteering and social action.
